Three iPhone Productivity Apps to Simplify Your Life

These iPhone and iTouch Apps Help Simplify Everything from Bargain Shopping to Lifting Weights

Apple has started an entertainment and productivity revolution with the iPhone and iTouch, and thousands of companies and app producers have joined in over the past few years. Ground zero for this revolution is the "App Store"; Apple's virtual marketplace containing thousands of programs (both free and paid) to entertain, educate or increase your productivity. As great as the "App Store" is, some of the best apps are hidden among the clutter (there are over 70,000 apps to browse), but I hope to help make your life easier by pointing out some of the cheapest and most helpful applications available.

AppBox Pro - Price: $0.99

This app contains everything that Apple should have put on the iPhone to begin with. There is a detailed battery life meter, a ruler, "flashlight", translator and unit converter, among tons of other useful features. With so many similar applications out there at a higher cost, this app manages to pack significantly more bang for your buck with it's 18 features. I personally find myself using the currency converter and sale price calculator the most, but there are so many options with this app that you really can't go wrong with the low price.

iFitness - Price: $1.99

This app is great for those who regularly workout or those who desire to start a new exercise plan. While this application is far from a substitute for an actual trainer, it is a great way to log your progress and find new exercises. There are pictures and videos that demonstrate correct form for hundreds of different exercises, helping you to prevent injury or worthless lifting. With 12 preloaded workout plans and all of this app's bells and whistles, the $1.99 price tag seems minimal relative to other similar products on iTunes.

RedLaser - Price $1.99

Ever find yourself shopping for something and wondering if you are actually getting the best price? A simple way to find out is to search the product on your phone and compare prices from the Internet, but this can be a bit tedious with all of the typing and waiting; why not just scan the bar code? I didn't believe this was possible until I purchased this app, but you can now scan bar codes with your iPhone (sorry iTouch users, this one will not work for you). You simply take a picture of the bar code, and in seconds, you get a detailed report of prices from across the Internet. If you decide to buy this app, I can guarantee you that you will be scanning everything in sight for about a week; this app is truly addicting and extremely useful.

Hopefully these applications help make your iPhone or iTouch even more indispensable than it already is.
