no steam vaporizes
yet. she hums
french. purple
kimono. pink silk.
vibrant vigor-
he glances,
a listening ear.
he rests,
calloused hands
atop airy mattresses.
no complaints.
lamp teeters
over his shoulder.
little jewels, drip
from shades
his initials,
fresh etchings.
scarlet paints,
drip from vessels.
she cooks now.
she sees a kitchen.
she sees her stove.
he reflects.
candy egg decorations
line a coffee table.
furnace rattles
its own beat. silence.
comfort. solidity.
altruistic causes rest
on the book shelves.
she shuts the door.
he turns off the light.
