Three Personalized Father's Day Gifts from Children

mommy2
We celebrate two very special days very close together in the summer. In May we celebrate Mother's Day and in June we celebrate Father's Day.

Both occasions can cause a great deal of thought when it comes to gift giving. However, it does seem that fathers may perhaps be a little harder to buy a gift for than mothers. Many mothers receive flowers, jewelry, or potted plants for Mother's Day. Most mothers like all of these things. Most mothers are also very appreciative of any homemade gift from their children no matter how unprofessional the work may seem.

Fathers on the other hand are not so sentimental and appreciative of these types of gifts. Therefore it may be more difficult to find a gift that is meaningful and appreciated by your father.

Below are a couple of ideas that I have tried. They worked very well and were greatly appreciated by my children's father.

Daddy & Me Collage
For this gift I collect as many pictures as I could of my children and their father. The pictures were from all different age level and all different stages in our lives. Some of the pictures were on a digital disc and others I had to scan into the computer. You could also scan them in at a picture kiosk such as those at Wal-Mart. I arranged all of the pictures on one page and added captions. At the top you can place a title such as "Daddy & Me". I printed the collage off on an 8 x 10 picture and framed it for his office.

I Want to be Just Like Daddy
Another great idea is to have your child's picture made dressed in some of his or her father's clothing or work attire. For example a very picture that my friend did was of her son in his father's police officer hat and badge. I have also seen firefighter uniforms. I made my children's picture made in my husband's boots.

Wear My Picture to Work Tie
If you have a business man for a husband everyone will be sure to love a tie with the children's picture on it. Most photo developing places and internet sites will create a tie with a repeating pattern of a picture that you take. Be certain to read all of the fine print in order to get the best product possible. The quality and style of the picture does make a difference.
