POETRY
THREE POEMS of SOLACE (DEDICATION to EMILY DICKONSON )
1
My wealth is in burnished gold
In these hands I cannot hold
The long sunset of my life
Losing fortune, son and wife
2
Regret is a bird of prey
Of the carrion-feeding variety
Not always good to look at
Better left for vulture repast
3
Hope is a daydream of sunrise
From our frigid, frightening times
Frozen snows soiled before our eyes
A switch when Dark strikes our wind-chimes
