Based on information entered into the tree the website is able to find other possible family links. Free features of the site allow searchers to find records from the U.K., Ireland, and Canada. To find family in other areas of the world a membership fee must be paid.
To search for family members in the United States individuals have three pricing options. They can pay $12.95 a month for a year, $16.95 a month for three months or $19.95 a month without commitment. The site offers a free 14-day trial period.
RootsWeb
RootsWeb is a free websites that allows people to contribute to and search vast genealogy databases. Individuals can submit their family tree, photos, news clips, and other significant items that would allow other family members they may not know about find them.
Members of this site are able to submit questions via a message board or add themselves to a mailing list so that other members may reach them. Individuals can search by surnames as well as searching a social security death index.
MyHeritage
MyHeritage is a fun website that allows individuals to build their family tree and publish it to the web for other family members to see. Individuals are able to download software in order to create their family tree. The site states that the software is safe and free of viruses and ad-ware.
