Routine
Upon rising the first room you naturally go in, is that bathroom. What better start to your day, than to quickly freshen up this area. Spray your gentle cleanser around the toilet, over the sinks, and the inside of the bathtub. Use cheap scented shampoo to drop into your toilet. Quickly wipe all the surfaces and floors in the bathroom. Use the toilet brush and scrub the toilet. Once a week you may need to do more thorough cleaning. Tasks such as mopping the floor, cleaning along the floorboards, and scrubbing the shower or bath tub. Daily cleaning of hard surfaces daily, will give the bathroom the appearance of being clean, even if you had to skip your weekly deep cleaning day.
Aromatherapy
Choose scents that you enjoy. Bring in scents that you enjoy. You could burn incense for a few minutes. Lighting a quality scented candle is a great way to uplift your morning. Look for non toxic spray air freshener. Use scented oils that you can heat up in a mini crock pot or with a candle. Keep scented potpourri or scented satchels throughout the bathroom. There are aromatherapy products available at all price points. For the most savings, choose products that are inexpensive to maintain. For example incense, scented oils, and candles can be found at discount stores, dollar stores, and at grocery stores.
Personality
Place calming pictures into the bathroom. Think of the bathroom as your private spa. Snapshots of calming place; or memorable vacation spots can be blown up and framed. Decorate your bathroom at discount retailers such as Ross, Target, and TJ Maxx. These discount stores will carry beautiful fabric shower curtains, rugs, and bathroom furniture. Add a full length mirror to at least one wall of the bathroom.
Keeping the bathroom clean is easier, when it is a desirable room. Family members, who once avoided the bathroom, may try to spend a few extra moments there. Encourage all of your family members to wipe down each surface after using. Keep a non toxic cleanser in a spray bottle with paper towels or cleaning rags easily accessible. Use these tips to keep your bathroom clean.
