Three Reasons We Will Never Stop Drinking Coffee

No Matter What the Cost

It may not be the most startling news of the day - what with the new Congress taking over today and the whisper of a surge of troops to Iraq in the air. But, the fact that the price of coffee is going up will have a rattling effect on the daily lives of Americans, nonetheless. At most, some consumers might try to stop the habit, and then again some will just complain in the grocery aisle - really, though, it will make no difference. People will never stop drinking the brew! Folgers is bringing up their prices and soon, Maxwell House and Chock Full 'o Nuts will follow suit. If you are a customer at a nearby coffee shop in the morning, you will find an extreme trend in coffee prices, but if you perk at home it will be pennies on the dollar.

Could it possibly mean that caffeine addicts will soon be in withdrawal? Nah! I don't think so! For anyone who has ever tried to quit the brew, the horrible headaches, nasty disposition, and sense of unreality will force most of us to bite the bean and keep on keeping on!

Let's face it; there are three reasons to never stop drinking coffee no matter what the cost!

1) There is nothing like the fragrance of coffee perking in your home in the morning. After all, a whole commercial was made to honor this fact. Most people don't remember a morning of their lives when coffee was not a part of it. Oh sure, there are some party poopers who state that they hate the smell of coffee. But they are so few and far between that diehard coffee lovers pay no attention to them.

2) Coffee is memories. When a person looks back over a lifetime so many memories are tied to coffee. The time your husband told you he wanted a divorce over coffee. The time you received your acceptance into college over coffee. And the time you received your many rejection letters from publishing companies over coffee. We remember them all, and then have a cup of coffee.

3) Most of all, coffee is a part of the culture of the world. Go to the Flickr website and do a search of coffee - you will find coffee in every country in the world. Mexican coffee, Indonesian coffee, Vietnamese coffee, and of course, Starbuck coffee. You will find people of all cultures sharing cups of coffee, in airports, in break rooms, and at American Red Cross stations. Coffee is a part of the culture of the world.

Yes, coffee prices are going up, but it really does not matter. Because we will continue to drink coffee. Our world demands it!
