Anyone who drives a car in San Antonio, Texas has probably noticed quite a few people selling newspapers in the streets. While these people who sell the newspapers are just trying to make a buck, they really should stay off the roads. In this article, I will explain why people who sell newspapers should stay off the roads.

Distracting -

Unfortunately, people who sell newspapers in the streets are often fairly distracting. These individuals may do all sorts of things in order to get your attention such as waving at you, yelling, walking up and down the roads; etc. When drivers are distracted, they often don't pay attention too well. So if the individual driving in front of you doesn't immediately speed up when the light turns green, it might just be because a newspaper seller has distracted them.

Accidents -

Obviously, being distracted causes other problems as well. Accidents are one of the problems, unfortunately. The accidents might be between motorists, or one of the newspaper sellers may be the victim of a startled driver. Seriously, sometimes these newspaper sellers come out of nowhere. It can be very annoying and frightening. So basically, these newspaper sellers are a threat to themselves, and other people when they're selling their papers.

Cruel -

Can you imagine selling newspapers on the side of the road, though? It would be a nightmare! I don't know what these newspaper sellers have to go through, but I can't imagine that it's anything pleasant. For starters, it can be unforgivably hot during the summer in San Antonio. Temperatures soar past a hundred degrees on many days.

These newspaper sellers are outside in the merciless heat trying to get people to buy their papers. And I can't imagine that they receive that much money for their work. Plus, I doubt many people buy newspapers anymore thanks to the Internet.

And then, these newspaper sellers have to put up with bugs, rain, hail, lightning, angry commuters, crazy people, and who knows what else. For their own safety, people who sell newspapers should simply stay away from the streets. And don't forget about the safety of your fellow commuters.

So if you ever see a person selling newspapers on the street in San Antonio, don't be too cruel to them. Yes, they can be annoying with their constant yelling and sporadic trips between car lanes. However, it could be worse. You could have their job.
