The first decoration idea for New Year's Eve is that you can make your own table runner. For your own New Year's Even table runner you are going to need transparent paper like cellophane, silver and gold glitter, tape and confetti. You first want to measure the length of your table and then cut the transparent paper double that length. Fold the paper in half long ways and seal it with some clear tape along both sides of the paper, making sure the top of it is still open. Pour the glitter and confetti into the opening of the paper and shake it from side to side in order to even the glitter and confetti out. You need to shake the glitter and confetti very gently so that you do not get clumps, and then seal the top of the paper with the tape. Once that is done, you should have your very own homemade New Year's Eve table runner decoration.
You can also make a pretty New Year's Eve decoration using a vase and some flowers and small twigs. All you need for this New Year's Eve decoration is a vase, silver spray paint, pine cones, twigs, and flowers. Go outside and gather small twigs, pine cones, and some small flowers and cut them down to a size for the vase you have selected. Take the twigs and small branches or pine cones and add silver spray paint to them and let them dry for a few hours on some wax paper. Once the twigs and small branches or pine cones are dry, simply arrange them in your vase for a very decorative and pretty New Year's Eve decoration that you can set anywhere in your house.
Another great simple homemade New Year's Eve decoration is to get some silver and gold ribbons to add around your house. This decoration is very easy and can be done for a few dollars at your local craft store if you buy a couple yards of both silver and gold ribbon. Take the silver and gold ribbon and twist them together kind of like a braid, and then you can tie them together at the top and bottom so they will stay together. You can use sections of the silver and gold ribbon to tie back curtains around your house or you can let them hang on the top of the curtain rods as a border around your curtains. If you have a hallway or entrance into your house, you can put up some of the silver and gold ribbon to invite people into your home and make a border around the top of the walls, using tape to hold it together to the wall. By just placing the ribbons together in certain locations around your house you can add the New Year's feel to any room in your home and also have a simple decoration that you can use every year. You could also add some confetti to the ribbons if you want to make the decoration even more festive but the confetti can get a little messy and fall from the ribbon into your floor so be careful.
