Three Space Saving Home Appliances - Refrigerators

Whether you want a refrigerator that will fit into a smaller space, or one that fits under the counter; they would both be considered a space-saver. There are even some space saving refrigerators that are small enough to fit into the cupboard, or on the counter-top.

The features that are common in a space-saving refrigerator is a flush back design so that it can fit up against the wall, and recessed handles.

Danby

Danby makes a 3.4 cubic foot refrigerator that makes a perfect fit underneath the counter. It is a freestanding unit, with reversible doors. This unit comes in only black, and has a cost of $179.00. The Danby Space Saving refrigerator has slide out shelves, has 3 bins on the door, with a can dispenser. The door also has a small shelf for small containers such as margarine.

There is a 4.4 cubic foot refrigerator with the same features as the 3.4 cubic foot unit, but it comes in white, for $189.00. The Danby Space Saving Refrigerator runs on 15 amps and 120 volts.

General Electric Spacemakers

GE has a space saving unit that is a 5.51 cubic foot capacity, with a little freezer in the unit that is .49 cubic foot capacity. It has to be manually defrosted.

It has 15 amps, uses 120 volts, and will hold ½ gallon size containers on the door. The door also has a can rack. It comes in black or white for $299.99.

KitchenAid

KitchenAid Space saving refrigerators are considerably more expensive than other makes of space saving refrigerators. It has a 5.7 cubic foot capacity. Adjustable temperature control and requires a custom overlay panel on the door of the refrigerator. It has a Z shelf for both short and tall containers. It also has a garnish basket, with interior light.

This space saving refrigerator can be free - standing or built in. It is up to your discretion. It is also Energy Star Rated, which means it is energy efficient. This unit costs about $1059.00.

It takes a little while to get used to a space saving refrigerator, but when you do, you'll be amazed at the amount of space you don't need in a refrigerator.
