- Company hired former students for internships and careers through interviews on campus
- College has a large number of students in targeted college majors to fill job interview schedules on campus
- Campus career center staff have excellent reputation for helping companies meet qualified candidates when they interview on campus
Regardless of why employers choose a specific college campus for interviews, students should not miss the opportunity to interview with employers on campus. Here are 3 steps to do interviews on campus.
Step 1 to interview on campus - Register with the college career center
Many college career centers will manage an events calendar with dates for interviews on campus, employer information sessions and career events like job fairs. Registration with the career center will let students create profiles, upload resumes and set up their interview on campus.
Step 2 to interview on campus - Prepare for the Job Search
Visit the campus career center for help with resume and cover letter development; mock interviews and to learn about any specific job search strategies to meet with visiting recruiters or the selection process. Some employers will allow students to sign up for job interviews on campus through an open schedule. Other employers will pre-screen and pre-select college students to fill their interview schedule.
Step 3 to interview on campus - Follow Instructions; Show up for Interviews
Career centers take their relationships with employers seriously. Many career centers do not limit to the number of times a student can schedule interviews on campus. However, college students who sign up for on-campus interviews and 'no-show" for scheduled for interviews, could be barred from further scheduling interviews on campus. On interview day, dress professionally and show up early.

Good points Deb. I used to get calls from alumni because they wanted to get their old information. Some career offices will actually let new alumni use campus recruiting as well.
great job
Great information! Our Career Services Department would allow graduates to keep their resumes, letters of reference/referral and coverletters in their college email for 2 years after graduation. It really helped if you needed to retrieve or update them for potential interviews! They would also send notices via their college email for upcoming career events!
Good advice.
