Now in his third year, Rob Bironas has become the main guy as far as kickers go in Tennessee. This is a guy who understands what hard work is all about. He spent several years in the American Football League(AFL) working on his skills and trying to prove that he deserved to play in the National Football League. Finally in 2005 Bironas got his chance when he signed a contract with the Tennessee Titans. Now in his third year he has become the #1 kicker in Tennessee. Bironas is well known for his sixty yard field goal last year to defeat the Indianapolis Colts. This year Rob Bironas set a NFL record by kicking eight field goals in one game against the Houston Texans.
Albert Haynesworth is having a career season. His season has been so great, many argue that he is playing harder because he is in the middle of a contract season. Regardless, Haynesworth has been a beast on the football field this year. He has six sacks in eleven games this year, including a three sack performance against the Carolina Panthers. In almost every game he receives double or triple teams from the opponents. Titans fans have noticed the difference in the defense when Haynesworth is out, as he has been for three games this year. The Titans are 8-3 with Albert and 0-3 without him. Haynesworth has made a huge turn around from last years incident with Dallas, that saw him suspended for several games.
Kyle Vanden Bosch is the man whose motor never stops. Two years ago he had a career season with 12.5 sacks. But after a somewhat disappointing season last year, he has worked incredibly hard to re-establish himself as one of the great pass rushers in the NFL. This year he has nine sacks so far ranking him seventh in the NFL. He has over one hundred tackles and ranks second on his team. What makes Kyle's numbers so great is that there have been a number of times he has been really close to a sack or tackle. Despite all of the attention he has seen from opposing offensive lines, Vanden Bosh has been determined to get to the quarterback and make plays. He could very easily have twice the number of sacks he currently has this year.
Bironas, Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch have all been hard working players and have earned the right to play in this year's Pro-Bowl. There presence has made their team much better this year.
