Three Top Ski Resorts in Colorado

Three Not to Miss Ski Resorts in Beautiful Colorado

Janie King
With ski season about to begin, it's a good idea to start planning your Colorado ski trip now! Colorado is a major ski destination for many. It's amazing to meet people who have traveled from all around the world that come to ski Colorado's magnificent slopes. Not all ski resorts offer the best access to the slopes and that's a deal breaker for me. I wanted to share my top three ski resorts in Colorado.

The first ski resort I ever visited in Colorado is Breckenridge. This resort has been listed as one of the top 5 ski locations in the world by the BBC and chosen as 9th best ski resort by the highly respected Ski Magazine. The resort has 2,358 of land to ski on. The part that I liked best about this resort is that the runs are groomed nightly so every morning you come out to a fresh run without a bunch of icy gutters. The Imperial Express is North America's highest chair lift. It will get you to awesome areas to ski! In total Breckenridge has 30 lifts to accommodate all of the visitors and to ensure that you're not stuck waiting in line all day. For more information please visit their visitor's website.

If you like celebrities, hanging out with the beautiful people and great skiing, Aspen is the place to be. The resort offers 4 great mountains with an interchangeable ticket, a energetic town with great restaurants and nightlife, and a free bus system that will take you anywhere that you need to go. One of my favorite activities when I visit Aspen is to drive around and look at the multi-million dollar homes that only get used one or two weeks out of the year. Aspen isn't all Hollywood glamour. Aspen is a great place to go snowshoeing, if you still have energy after hitting the slopes all day! There's more information available on the resort at All Aspen. website.

Snowmass Resort is ranked as the number one ski resort in Colorado by Ski.com It is hard to beat Snowmass for the wide groomed intermediate slopes and more challenging slopes and beginner slopes are available for all ability levels. The resort has something for everyone, including snowboarders. The resort offers a 12 foot half pipe for snowboarders. I liked that the lodging was so close to the slopes. We didn't drive anywhere the whole week. The little village around the resort had awesome local food. I hate traveling to beautiful ski resorts and seeing McDonald's. Visit their website for more information on this awesome resort.
