Choosing a place to go on a first date can always be a little nerve wracking but it should not be. Minneapolis is full of wonderful restaurants and places to go. I have compiled a list of three of the best places to take a first date. I love being from the Twin Cities and I have partaken in my fair share of first date restaurants and venues. These three spots are sure to make the perfect ambiance for your outing.

Loring Pasta Bar: This elegant and affordable place has been around since 2000. It has a fantastic and relaxing atmosphere that is sure to impress your first date. The Loring pasta bar is a fun and friendly place that has an understated beauty that makes you think of being directly out in nature. There is whimsical brickwork that plays into the fantastic details that they pay attention to at this restaurant. They have a wide selection of wine, beer and other top shelf liquors. You can sit inside or outside when the weather is right. Take a look at their website for more information and to consider taking your date here.

Brit's Pub: For something unique and fun, the Brits pub in downtown is the perfect spot. They have couches and lounges with fireplaces to warm things up in the wintertime. Perfect for sitting close and getting to know someone with intimate conversation. One word of caution is that it can get a little busy so the din will rise, but if you snag one of the great side-by-side seating spots, you should not have a thing to worry about. The menu is fantastic with traditional British fare and other American staples. The beer list is impressive and you will certainly enjoy a sampling of domestic or import. Check out the website for more information on the hours, and ask them about the roof top patio seating in the warm months!

The Chatterbox Pub: This is a fun pub that has developed themselves into a place known for a unique menu with fantastic flavor and providing excellent service. They want you to feel at home like it is your own neighborhood pub. The unique thing about the Chatterbox is the offering of video games. They Boat games from Atari, Nintendo, and Sega Genesis games such as Frogger, Tetris, Mario Bros, Sonic, and Combat, as well as a library of your favorite board games such as Yahtzee, Connect 4, and Apples to Apples. What better date can you picture than great food and great games for entertainment? Check their website for directions and hours to all of their locations.
