Chicken wire is a fun way to create a cool backsplash in your kitchen. If you have walls that are not perfect flat or smooth this is a great idea as well.

Use newspaper to create a paper template of the area of your backsplash. Simple measuring may not lend itself well to creating a perfect template and since you can only cut the chicken wire once, this is needed.

Now, take your paper template and trace it onto the chicken wire. Use this to cut out the chicken wire Install on the wall using those plastic mirror clips that screw into the wall.

You can make easy light covers using chicken wire and sheets of acetate. Look for opaque white acetate. Cut out a rectangle of chicken wire and a matching piece of acetate. Punch a hole in the middle of the acetate. Line it up with the chicken wire cut out.

Unscrew the glass cover of four light and use the screw to attach your new shabby chic cover on!

You could also use this same idea to make a lampshade! So, if you rent you are not wasting your money on decorating someone else's home.

Use that same idea of a sheet of acetate that is opaque or even a piece of white cheese cloth and cu tit out to the size of your window. Now, cut out the wire to the same size.

Use bulletin board pins to adhere the four corners to the wood window frame.
