Three Ways to Get into the 2010 Vancouver PNE Free
How to Get Free PNE Gate Admission & Discounted Tickets
It's an annual tradition on opening day of the The Fair at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver, Canada to have free gate admission between 9 am to noon. This year, opening day at the 2010 Vancouver PNE is not free and the Fair does not open until 11 am. Free PNE Gate Admission is on Sunday August 22 when it's PNE Free Gate Day from 9 am-Noon.
What If I'm I arrive at 12:01 pm To Get Into the Vancouver PNE Free?
As much as the Vancouver PNE welcomes all visitors on opening day, they are pretty strict about the cut-off for the free PNE gate admission. So, be sure to arrive early and on time to get in. As generous as the Pacific National Exhibition are about getting onto the fair grounds, there has to be a cut-off point so if you're not standing in line by noon on Sunday, August 23, you'll pay regular admission.
Where Can I Get In to the Vancouver PNE Free?
The busiest lines will be at the gates where the PNE Express bus drops off people near the coliseum and at the main gate. You may want to try the entrances closer to Playland to minimize the wait times. If you're planning on taking a bus to the PNE, be prepared for looooooong line-ups at the bus depot.
Can You Use Your BC Gold Card From the Hastings Park Casino To Get In Free to the PNE?
According to Darren MacDonald, Manager of Gaming Operations at Hastings Racecourse "Unfortunately the BC GOLD card will not be accepted for admission this year. It was widely abused last year by people that didn't come to our casino so we have discontinued the program."
Work and Get in Free to the 2009 Vancouver PNE
The PNE or some of the vendors and merchants at the PNE may still be hiring. If you work at the PNE, you can get into the PNE free, one of the great perks about being an employee at the PNE.
How Much Is It To Get Into the 2010 Vancouver PNE?
If you can't get into the 2009 Vancouver PNE for free this year, you can always just purchase admission tickets for $20, up from $15 last year. Discount tickets with $3.20 off per adult ticket are available throughout lower mainland 7-Eleven, Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart and Save on Foods stores.
2010 Vancouver PNE Free Gate Admission Also Includes Free Concerts
Free PNE gate admission does not include getting on the rides for free, that's extra. You can purchase individual ride tickets or a ride pass. If you're attending the Bryan Adams concert on opening day at Empire Stadium, PNE gate admission is included. However, the gate admission does include admission to see Kevin Costner & Modern West, Terri Clark, Michael Bolton, Loverboy, Huey Lewis and the News, Wayne Newton, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Marianas Trench, Spirit of the West, John Hiatt and the Combo & Los Lobos, Annual Evening With Elvis, Jesse Cooke, Little River Band, Cyndi Lauper, Steven Page and The Road Hammers. PNE Report Card Program
Every year the PNE gives away over a quarter of a million free PNE fair admission tickets to students in their end-of-year report cards. So check your child's report card for their free 2010 PNE fair ticket. Kids from kindergarten to grade seven were given one free children's admission ticket if their school participated in the free 2009 PNE report card program. This ticket cannot be used for adult admission and does not include ride passes.
Pacific National Exhibition Hours
Except for Sunday, August 22nd when the gates are open early 9 am for the free PNE gate admission, the 2010 Vancouver PNE opens daily at 11 am and stays open late into the night.

Post a CommentClimb the fence...certain part of the PNE ground is not covered by security..Every year I always get in without ever getting caught..
Another free way I have heard about to get in is to do a gate rush. That is where a group of 10 to 20 people get together and storm through the gates all at once. Security gets so overwhelmed that they are unable to stop it. This may be illegal but it is a huge rush! That is why it is called a gate rush! It could be organized online between strangers or amongst high school friends. (I am not suggesting anyone do this, as it would be illegal for me to do so, just pointing out one more way for free admission).
Oh great! The gate admission jumped 33 percent in one year(From $15 to 20 in one year)! Is the PNE run by the BC Liberal Party now?
We don't mind spending some money but we don't want to get outright ripped off. We have cancelled our plans to visit the PNE once we learned what a ripoff the gate admission was.
including pop until 3:30 PM.
Sorry PNE, u wont be getting my money. Bring back the BC Gold Casino program with free admission and you'll have me running back instead of away.
Nice way to attack people to this blog. Sadly, it's bunk. There is no real way to get into the PNE for most people with the exception of those students.
I like how the BC Gold Casino Rep mentioned the free admission was abused last year? How did he come to that conclusion? Both my friends and I used our BC Gold card to get into the casino and we did play in the casino, but nobody scanned our cards at the gate?
Still, that was one of the best ways to get people to spend their hard earned money at the fair.
The fair is alsread expensive and if they had free admission with certain cards, they'll spend money at the fair. As it stands now, we're not going to the fair except for the opening day. We wont be repeating our visits, especially now since everything is so expensive at the fair, especially the fish and chips, and perogoies that sell for $12!! Why do that? U can visit C-Lovers in West Van which is 15 minutes away and get an all you can eat lunch special for $10.99 includi
I have a Family Of 7 And could never afford to take my family for an eventful day it wasn't so bad when we could use our bc gold card from the casino last year 2009 and apparently this year we can not use it I feel this Is so unfair !! Thanks
I'm confused. Is this article about the 2009 Fair or 2010? Both years are mentioned in the article. Most of the article seems to apply to the 2010 Fair but the date that it was published says August 2009 and one of the headings reads "Work and Get in Free to the 2009 Vancouver PNE"
Please clarify.
I know this story is a little old but the place is called "Hastings Racecourse" not "Hastings Park", hastings park is the small park closer to hastings st.
Thanks for the update on the PNE report card program!
This year the PNE did not automaticaly give out tickets to kids at the end of the school year. All schools had to register and an e-ticket would be issued. So if your school is busy near the end of the school year and if your kid did not get a free ticket that means you are out of luck. If you would like a free ticket because your the school did not register here is an email address for you to ask for one Kate Huffman khuffman@pne.ca. This is her comment to me at the end of her email . . . please be aware that for future years this is the decision of the school to participate or not and we will not be providing individual tickets.
