Three Ways to Make Legitimate Money Online

There are a few legitimate online money making opportunities available where you can earn money as an independent contractor. The easiest way is via the Amazon's Mechanical Turk system or Mturk. This site allows individuals to earn money by choosing and completing tasks that are called HITS. An example of a HIT could be witting a product review, tagging a photograph or looking up information on the web. When an individual completes these HITS they are rewarded a monetary dollar amount and it is placed into their account. Your accumulated monies can be deposited into your paypal account or it can be used to purchase items at the Amazon marketplace. The HITs are relatively simple and require very little effort. However, the amount you earn is relatively small. It may take some time to earn a substantial amount of money. There are no referral bonus. However, there are no hiring requirements, therefore you can start earning money immediately. Overall, Mturk is a great site to earn money in your spare time and have fun while doing it.

Another company that I have spent most of my time with is ChaCha. ChaCha is a free texting service that allows individuals to text any question via their cell phone to 242242. ChaCha utilizes human contractors to 'expedite' the incoming questions and then search for the answer utilizing the Internet. The four types of contracting jobs available at ChaCha are Expeditors, Generalists, Specialists and Voice Transcribers. Expeditors receive an incoming question, clean up the question by using correct spelling and English, as well as looking for possible quick answers. Generalists and Specialists research answers, format the answer and send it back to the texter. Generally, one can make between $3 and $9 per hour based on volume. A great advantage to ChaCha is that you can sign on and off to the system and work at any time. There are no set schedules that you need to abide by and no minimum dollar amount that you need to make. Busy times vary but at the time this article was written, one can make the most money evening, overnight and weekend hours. ChaCha hires based on volume needs. There hiring process includes application, testing and simulation and it is relatively easy if you are computer literate and speak and write English well.

A similar company to ChaCha is KGB, also known as the Knowledge Generation Bureau. Texters can text 542542, and similar to ChaCha, can ask just about any question and receive an answer within seconds to minutes. The difference between ChaCha and KGB is that KGB chargers for their service. As an independent contractor, you do not have a choice as to which role you want. Special Agents decide if their is an expedited/automated answer or if the question needs to be researched. Agents receive .05-.10 cents per question. It is in my personal experience that it is a much more difficult hiring process as compared to ChaCha. The skills testing is more cumbersome and harder to pass. KGB is also not as flexible as ChaCha. You are required to sign up for set schedules and if you find that when you sign on and it is not busy you still must abide by your schedule. In addition, you are required to hit a minimum dollar amount or you can be dismissed. Busy times generally are late at night and weekends. You do have the opportunity to advance by becoming a 'Quality Agent' where you review outgoing answers.

Although these three examples will not allow an individual to quit their day job and earn a significant living, there are great ways to supplement your income and help pay some monthly bills or help achieve a long needed vacation.
