Three Ways to Send Text Messages with Verizon Wireless

If you are a Verizon Wireless customer, there are three different ways you can send a text message. If you do not have free texting, but want to send someone a text, you can do so for free. In this guide, I will show you the different ways you can send text messages if you are a Verizon Wireless customer.

Using Your Phone to Text

Your first option is using your phone to text. You can use your phone and text as you normally would. If you do not have free texting, then this may not be the right option for you. If you have a limited amount of texting, you may want to try one of the options below. If you have free texting, then there is nothing wrong with using your phone to text.

Texting From Your Email

If you do not have free texting, you can text for free right from your email. The text can be sent to who you want. Then when they reply, the text will be sent back to your email. This is also a great option if you have left your phone somewhere and can't get it for a day or two.

To text from your email, you will need to open your email and choose the option to create a new email. In the address or To field, you will need to type the person's cell phone number you wish to send the text to. After the number, you will need to type @vtext.com. So, this is how it should look, 5555555555@vtext.com. Don't forget to include the area code. Then type your message in the body and send your email. You do not have to use a subject because that will take up more room. Remember to keep your message short because you are only allowed so many characters in a text.

Send Text from the Vtext Website

You can also send text messages from the Verizon website at vtext.com. Once you load the texting site, you will see the different fields you will need to fill out. You will need to enter the person's number that you wish to text and your message. The other fields are optional. Once you have the fields filled in, click the Send button to send the text.

With this option, people can reply to you, but it will be sent to your phone. So, this option allows you to send free text, but if you get a response, it will have to be on your phone.
