Three-Strand Beaded Necklace: Step-by-Step Instructions

Anyone who loves making their own jewelry will really love making these beautiful three strand beaded necklaces. This is a type of necklace that will look nice with any of the beads that you choose to use with it. Of course, if you are just getting started with this type of a DIY craft you will want to start out by working with smaller beads as these will be a lot less cumbersome to work with as you make your first three-strand necklace. Regardless of what types of beads you choose to use, you should make sure that you use a multi-strand jewelry clasp (one that has three prominent holes in the metal) and a cable that will hold up under pressure and last throughout a lot of usage.

Whenever you are ready to start making your necklace you will want to cut three strands of your favorite type of necklace cable at the length that you desire plus an additional five inches. One of the best types of necklace cable to work with is Tiger-tail but it is up to you what you want to work with here. Once you have this cable you will want to put a crimping bead on the end of the cable that is going to be the closest to your neck.

It is time to thread your cable through the bottom hole in your three strand jewelry clasp. Make sure to feed the cable end through the crimping bead as this will take up the excess cable. You will know that you have done this right because you will have cable through your bead then up through the clasp and the back through the bead once again. When you have this you will want to use a pair of pliers to gently squeeze the bead over the cable and gently secure it permanently to the clasp. Now repeat this with your two remaining strands. Make sure that the mid-size cable is threaded through the middle hole of the multi-strand jewelry clasp. You can then thread your chosen beads onto the shortest cable of your necklace. Whenever this is done you will want to attach your cables to the other side of the clasp and complete your necklace.

Once you have taken these steps you will have a beautiful three-strand beaded necklace to enjoy. Don't be surprised if other people ask you to make them one as well.
