Thrifty Designer Shopping: A How to Shopping Guide

Tiffany Bailey
Is being a fashionista your goal when leaving the house? If you answered yes, then you landed in the right place! With the economy still not in a great state and cash becoming harder to spend on things that you once enjoyed, you can still dress in the hottest designer fashions and carry the designer purses for a fraction of the cost! First, you will have to develop a game plan. Where are you going to shop? What are you looking for? Which designer is on your must wear list? These are all deciding factors on how to go about finding these deals.

Where are you going to shop? You have so many options for this part of the plan! Many states have Goodwill Stores. This is an excellent place to find deals on things like clothing, jewelry, and purses. The great thing about shopping here is on Sundays and Mondays, they offer half off on a specific ticket color. This is a great way to save a little cash while spoiling yourself! Also, Prime Outlet Malls are popping up all over the United States. This is an excellent place to find anything you want! It holds stores from designers like Dooney & Burke, Coach, Kate Spade, Armani, Marc Jacobs, and so many others! If there is an outlet mall within driving range, it is definitely worth the travel for some major shopping without breaking your bank.

What are you looking to purchase? This question helps narrow the search down by epic proportions! Is it a specific bag/purse you are lusting after? Or how about a new pair of platformed heels? Some of the best places to get shoes and/or purses are the second hand resale shops. The outlet malls are also excellent for this type of shopping. You can go straight to the target store you want to shop at and be in and out in little time. Being prepared also helps you avoid purchasing things you don't need at the moment.

Which designer is on your favorite list? This is probably the hardest part of the list. There are so many designers out there to choose from! If you are looking for clothing, again the outlet mall and Good Will are fabulous choices! You can also try shopping online or in store at places like Nordstrom or Macy's. You might be able to catch an awesome deal on something they have put on clearance. For the accessory addicts, places like Marshalls and T J Maxx are excellent for finding closeout deals on fragrances, purses, jewelry, and shoes!

Sticking to the above guide will make shopping for your favorite indulgence that much easier and less costly. In this world it does pay to be a budget savvy fashionista!
