This product retails for $5.29 for the starter kit which includes the curved 19" handle which allows you to clean under the toilet bowl rim, two abrasive scrubbing pads, and a storage hook that attaches to you toilet bowl tank.
PROS
The disposable pad has hundreds of abrasive scrubbing fibers that tackle the toughest stains. You put the pad on the handle, scrub, and you are done. There are no cleaning products to cart around to the toilet, just the cleaning pad, handle and you are done. The front of the pad has a dark blue coating filled with scrubbing fibers that disolve as the product is used.
The Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush Max is much more sanitary then the old brush and toilet bowl cleanser routine. You use the pad, then click on the handle to dispose of it and you are done. You will want to make sure before you remove the brush from the bowl that you press it against the side of the bowl to wring it out so that it doesn't drip.
No unsightly toilet bowl brush wasting smelling away in a corner collecting dust. My biggest issue with the standard toilet bowl brush is that it is wet and drips all over the place. This sponge does not drip all over the bathroom. Problem solved.
It works. I am remodeling the downstairs bathroom. I have had the toilet basically out of commission for the last month. The hard water stains have really been building up. I didn't think that one scrubbing pad would cut it. It would have easily been a two flush job with the standard cleaning products. I was amazed that it cleaned a month worth of grime so simply.
CONS
The price. I find $5.29 rather expensive for only toilet bowl cleanings. I know that you can refill it, but the refills are $4.99 for eight. It averages out to more then fifty cents a cleaning. With my standard brush and Ajax I can get eight cleanings for 89 cents.
More waste. I am always looking for ways to reduce the amount of waste I produce. For each scrubbing you are throwing out a little sponge attached to a plastice attachment. With the standard method of cleaning there is no sponge to throw away. The standard toilet bowl brush can be used over and over agian without filling up landfills. If you are committed to reducing the amount of waste you produce this is not the way to go.
Really, other then the cost I like the product. I like the fact that it cleans like it claims to. It is easy to use, and you can interchange the standard scrubbing bubbles refills with the fresh brush max.
If you have additional disposable income to spend on cleaning products I would recommend buying this, but if you are a thrifty mom on a budget, I would stick with the old standbys.

Post a CommentI agree with K. Very wasteful and for those who are watching what we put back in the ground? Who knows how long it would take that brush to decompose and it has chemicals on it that are being put in the ground. Doesn't anybody use vinegar and elbow greese anymore?
Good review. There are so many gadgets out there, for cleaing and otherwise. This one sounds unneccasry. Thanks!
I completely agree with this. When this product and others like it first came out I knew it was an unnecessary expense and also very wasteful. I don't want to have to keep buying expensive disposable refills, and no matter how great it works, I'll stick with the old standbys. Great review!
