Recycle and Keep Green

There are many ways to Green up our lives. Being green means getting back to the basics - being creative more times than not. It also means we can make some extra income, or save money, from our green activities by way of our thrifty lifestyles. The best reward for our activities is the feeling of doing something positive for our world, but making a few dollars can be the bonus. Wasteful living never brings true prosperity. True prosperity is a way of finance that benefits everyone, including the planet.

This article is going to show you three creative ways to recycle the articles that you already have in your surroundings. Recycling can be a lucrative enterprise while also preserving our environment. Recycling is part of the 3 R's of ecology: Recycling, reusing, and reducing. See if you can't easily try one of these tips and save yourself some money.

1.) Have garage sales, and have them frequently (at least every second weekend in good weather). Why throw your unwanted items out and clog up our dumps? What is one sellers' junk is another buyers' treasure. Many people have made thousands of dollars with garage sales, because there are a lot of thrifty people who value your old things you no longer have a use for. You also may want to try the flea market concept. This might also be useful if you find you can't hold a garage sale in your environment. Flea markets are a venue where people sell or barter their used goods. Flea markets can range from the locale all the way up to the commercial level. It's surely worth doing some investigation into the flea market.

2.) Sell your gold and other metals. Metals are hot items right now, and it helps to preserve the mining of our precious metals from the ground and the consequent after-effects of mining activities. Selling your metals can be in the form of old jewelry, spoons, coins, and you will make some good money just for recycling your gold. Many people have made thousands and thousands of dollars with this avenue.

3). Contact antique dealers, consignment dealers, and even online auctions like eBay. Recycle your old and unused valuable items because buyers will pay you good cash for articles cluttering up your home. These dealers are similar to the flea market venue, but traditionally flea markets handle common, inexpensive items where consignment and auctions handle valuable, expensive items. These days there is a lot of gray area in what these kinds of venues handle, and in what is deemed valuable. Surely doing your research will help you make the best decisions in the long run.

Can you think of some other creative ways to recycle and make some extra green? Moreover, keep in mind that some recycling companies will reimburse you to recycle old paper and household items. Be sure to research into those venues as well.

Maybe with the new savings you'll make, you'll want to do something special for yourself, or maybe even donate it to a worthy cause. Whatever it is you choose to do with your new savings, just know you helped us all grow a little greener!
