Thought it would be neat
To call a friend they'd known in school.
His nickname had been "Pete",
But Pete was dead.
They planned instead
To use a Ouija board.
Their plan was full of danger
That they couldn't dare afford.
Black candles flickered all around.
They made a circle on the ground
By pouring out some table salt,
Which they had heard would evil halt.
They placed naive young fingers
On the pointer,
Then they prayed
To contact Pete, their friend from school.
Not one teen was afraid,
But evil forces were at work
That cold and fateful night.
They'd get more than they'd bargained for...
A Halloweenish fright!
The wind picked up.
The flames went out.
The pointer moved a bit.
The teens assumed that their friend Pete
Had gently pushed on it.
"What is your name?"
The young teens asked.
"Pete," came the reply.
They thought they'd found
Their long-lost friend...
But even ghosts can lie.
"Prove yourself,"
The teens asked now.
The board began to rise.
It levitated off the ground
Toward the blackened skies.
It slowly settled back to Earth,
In perfect view of all.
The teens were shaking in their skin.
Just WHO had come to call?
"How did you die?"
They asked him now,
As wind rushed through their hair.
"It was awful!" he replied.
"The old electric chair!"
This ghost was NOT the friend they knew,
For Pete indeed was dead,
But HE had perished quickly
From a gunshot to the head!
"Do you know Pete?"
The teens asked now
With ever-mounting dread.
(They wished that they had never tried
To conjure up the dead.)
"I pulled the trigger," he replied.
"I robbed the liquor store.
Your buddy took the bullet
And then landed on the floor.
I was caught on film that night.
They locked me in the pen.
They fried me in the special chair.
I've been in Hell since then."
The four teens sat in terror
As they watched Pete's killer write.
The cold wind whipped around them
As they trembled in the night.
They tried to burn the Ouija board.
The wood just wouldn't catch.
No matter, though.
They couldn't ward off evil...
With a MATCH!
A portal had been opened,
And evil still remains.
The four young teens are bound
By Satan's heavy, evil chains.
They try to sleep at night, but can't,
For in their minds, they hear a chant
To summon spirits good and bad.
They all regret the night they had!
The Devil's minions roam the Earth
To hurt God's children from their birth.
These demons don't just want a thrill.
They LOVE to maim.
They LIVE to KILL!
They'll stop at nothing to possess
A person yearning to caress
The evil forces all around.
His death will strike...
Without a sound.
