Thriller Books for Film - Top 3

Books that Should Be Made into Movies: "The Fifth Vial," "Company Man," "Lisa Unger" Series

Ranee Wright
There are so many great thriller books that should be made into movies. The Fifth Vial is a medical thriller. Company Man is a corporate thriller. Lisa Unger wrote two Ridley Jones suspense novels, Beautiful Lies and Sliver of Truth. All of these books would make wonderful films, especially with the suggested cast and directors.

The Fifth Vial (2007) by Michael Palmer

The Fifth Vial is one of my favorite medical thriller books that would make a great movie. I also recommend Palmer's The Society for anyone that enjoys this genre.

Three very different characters become connected due to a deceptive and greedy organ transplant trade.
Natalie Reyes is a Harvard medical student and Olympic runner that got where she is with hard work and determination. Natalie is kidnapped, shot, and left for dead. She awakens in a hospital and learns that her lung was removed due to the gunshot.

Ben Callahan is a private investigator hired by a medical anthropologist to probe into the mystery of a mutilated body. Joe Anson is a medical research genius that is on the brink of discovering a medical breakthrough. He is suffering from advanced pulmonary fibrosis and someone wants to make sure he succeeds in his medical discovery.

Recommended Cast and Director for The Fifth Vial

Director: Ron Howard
Natalie Reyes: Hilary Swank
Ben Callahan: Matt Damon
Joe Anson: Liam Neeson

Company Man (2006) by Joseph Finder

Nick Conover is an admired CEO for a large company until he is forced to lay off 5,000 workers. A widower and single father of two, a stalker breaks into their home and writes "No Hiding Place" on the walls of Nick's home. When the police do nothing to help, he takes matters into his own hands and his life spirals out of control.

Audrey Rhimes, a relentless investigator with her own agenda is probing into the disappearance of an employee Nick laid off. Nick becomes involved with a former employee's troubled daughter, Cassie Stadler. Nick's director of security, Eddie Rinaldi, warns him to stay away from Cassie but Nick is drawn to her. Company Man is a great thriller that should be made into a movie; the climax is sure to surprise you!

Nick Conover: Tobey Maguire
Audrey Rhimes: Regina King
Cassie Stadler: Renee Zellweger

Beautiful Lies (2006) and Sliver of Truth (2007) by Lisa Unger

Meet freelance writer, Ridley Jones, whose world is turned upside down in Beautiful Lies when she discovers she was adopted. When she finds out who her real father is there is no turning back.

FBI agent Dylan Grace is hoping Ridley will lead him to her real father, Uncle Max who is supposedly dead. Lisa Unger's first novel Beautiful Lies along with the sequel Sliver of Truth are two books that would make one fabulous film.

Recommended Cast and Director for Lisa Unger series

Director: John Badham
Ridley Jones: Angelina Jolie
Dylan Grace: Andy Garcia
Uncle Max: Robert De Niro

The Fifth Vial, Company Man, Beautiful Lies, and Sliver of Truth are all thrilling books that would be perfect for the big screen. The suggested cast and directors were picked based on films they have performed in or made in the past.
