Thrillville: Off the Rails - a PSP Game Review

Walter Kovacs
Thriliville: Off the Rails is a fun and entertaining came for all ages. You manage and build attractions at your park, ride rides, play games (such as the mechanical bull or the "Test Your Strength" game). You earn money and experience points from playing these games and building these rides. Though rides costs a lot to build, they will almost always bring enough revenue to tat least break even. This is a fun game and I have a lot of fun while I am playing it.

So let us start with the graphics. There are pretty good, but not up to snuff with most other PSP games (such as Midnight Club LA Remix or Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories). But if you are purchasing this game, be aware that you are not purchasing it for its graphics. They are definitely some of the worst I have seen so far for the PSP.

Next we will move on to Gameplay. This is the most important aspect to most Video Games for the PSP. The way the game is set up is nice. You have a park, you manage it, and you roll in money. Simple enough,

if I do say so myself. I really like this game and all the minigames that are included. There are games like the Mechanical Bull, The "Test Your Strength" game, and a shooting/tanks game. If you like games with a lot of minigames, this is the game you should by. This game has some of the most interesting and fun minigames that exist now on the PSP. My favorite one in this game is stunt rider.

Last but not least is the storyline. Globo-Joy. a rival theme park of Thrillville wants to make sure that they get bad reviews in newspapers and magazines. You have to convince the Globo-Joy reviewers that Thrillville is a fun and awesome place to hang out and ride some coasters.

I really like this game, but not enough to play it as mych as I play other games like Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty. I take this game with me on trips and I play it on long flights. The minigames are just difficult enough to keep me occupied, but not so hard that they are annoying.

In conclusion, If you like to play games with lost of cool minigames, this is the game you ant. If not, you don't really want this game at all. All it truly is is a bunch of minigames. Building the park is only done in minimal increments of time, and the park will practically run itself. I would give this game a 6 out of 10. It's storyline is simple. It's minigames are fun. Its graphics are not skippy. I like this game a lot, and you can pick it up for only a few bucks from a third party seller.
