Through My Cat's Eyes

Just a Little Poem I Wrote Awhile Ago

Joyce Hewitt
This Lizard he is crawling
This Lizard he is drinking
Drinking the mold that grows
It grows all over my patio
Into my apartment this lizard he stares
Into the cats eye he sees his reflection.
The glare of the hunter is in the eye of the cat.

This lizard is gone, in the blink of my very own eye.
There is only mold left on my patio.
My plants are thirsty but left to die.
The cat waits for his return.
