The memories that know no money's worth
Hold fast to your memories as time goes by
Live the days, live the moments through memory's eye
Remember the happy, remember the sad
Remember the wild times, the fun times, the bad
Remember the triumphs, remember regret
For these are the times we can never forget
The times we worked hard, the honors we won
The satisfaction of a job well done
To earn that medal or grade or letter
And make ourselves just a little bit better
The sound of cheering, of clapping hands
The victory sound of jubilant fans
The times we cried when we lost the game
The times we won and cried just the same
The beat of the drums, the flags unfurled
The band marched ahead as the majorettes twirled
The chorus tapped their feet in time
And sang in harmony and rhyme
Girls in long dresses, boys wearing ties
The prom was lovely, a treat to the eyes
Slow dancing, soft music, sweet punch, dim light
It got over at twelve but we stayed out all night
The friends we lost, the friends we found
The fun we had just fooling around
The times we joked and laughed and played
The times we left when we should have stayed
The Seniors facing their very last year
The leaving of something familiar and dear
The underclassmen just finding out
What high school and life are really about
The grade school kids with hearts so young
Such tiny tots, so full of fun
Gaining the wisdom that they will need
Learning to add and write and read
We remember this time as happier days
For though we may leave, a part of us stays
But yet, more important, the part that we take
Times we'll never forget, for memory's sake.
