Throw Away Your Eyelash Curlers and Get Your Lashes Permed
Yes You Heard Me Right - Eyelashes Permed in Less Than a Hour
So me and my partner actually had the opportunity to go to a class to learn about perming eyelashes. When you either own a salon or work in one you get so many opportunities to go to fashion shows, classes, or other salons to learn more. When I first heard how this procedure is done I really wasn't too crazy about the idea of applying teeny tiny rollers to a clients eyelashes and then actually applying a perm solution on top. This had me a little leery at first especially for the fact that you are actually applying a chemical so close to your eyes. At the class they actually had a volunteer to get this procedure done. Well this person had very fine and straggly looking lashes that really needed something done to them. After the procedure this client had some amazing looking lashes that were long, full, and curled like the eyelashes that most of us try to achieve with our mascara or eyelash curlers.
Perming the eyelashes take about one hour. First the person performing this will clean your eyes making sure they are free of all make up and oils. Then they will have you lay down flat on your back with your eyes closed. They take a solution and apply this to your top lashes first so that the curlers will stick on the lashes. After that they will take their fingers and separate the lashes to make sure they are not stuck together. Then they will apply the perm solution onto the lashes and wait about ten minutes or so to process. Your eyes will be protected with pads so that the solution will not get inside your eye. Next they will apply the neutralizer on top and leave it there for another ten minutes. Different from doing a perm because, usually when the neutralizer is done you rinse it out with cool water. With the eyelash procedure it stays on. Then when the time is up they take a moisturizer creme and wipe the eyelashes off. The creme they use does remove all perm solution residue. So knowing what I learned from this class, this procedure can save you a lot of money and give you beautiful lashes in less than an hour. I never done this procedure to me because I am thankful for the long lashes that I was born with. They don't take me a lot of work to achieve the Hollywood look. Now on the other hand my partner had short and fine lashes. After she saw this procedure she decided to go for it. Her lashes looked absolutely beautiful. You have to remember though just like with any other type of perm hair grows out. Well so does your eyelashes eventually. This process only has to be done maybe every 6 months, which isn't too bad for the price it cost. This process will run you around fifty dollars. To be honest with you if I had horrible lashes I would of done this too. Be sure though before you consider this that you take a patch test, just like you would with a normal perm or color. A patch test can be done by applying the perm solution to the inside of your elbow. You would go to the person performing this and they will do it.

Very interesting! I don't think I'd have the nerve to do it, but it's fun to read about it.

Permed eyelashes! Oh my gosh that's crazy! I would be scared to death that I'd burn my eyes. Even perms on my head in the past have burned my eyes. ;)
I would be nervous too because of the chemicals, but interesting read! I never knew that such a thing existed!
I'd be nervous about the chemicals near my eyes. Very interesting article, though. I had never heard of this before.
