Throw a Pre-Prom Couple's Party

Prom is one of the most important events in a teenager's life. Graduation being the most important. To make the most out of prom, throw a party before prom just for couples. Think of it as a prelude to prom. This is especially great for new couples to help them get to know each other before prom.

~Decide Who to Invite

Most teens have a set group of friends. The party should consist of at least three to four couples. Invite all friends and their boyfriend or girlfriend. Send out invitations at least a month in advance to be sure you're the first to invite them to a pre-prom couples party.

~Set a Date

Everyone is stressed out the day of prom. Guys are trying to get comfortable in their suits and tuxes. Girls are fixing hair and makeup. In order to have a relaxing pre-prom couple's party, throw the party the day before prom. The helps the prom last longer with a two night event.

~Create the Atmosphere

Create your couple's party theme to coincide with your prom's theme. For instance, if you have a fifties theme prom, throw a fifties themed pre-prom couple's party. Choose decorations, music, and food that will work with the theme.

~Show a Romantic Movie

One of the most important parts of a pre-prom couple's party is setting the mood for a romantic night out. Choose a romantic movie that all your friends love. This gives everyone a chance to relax and be close before prom. Feel free to laugh and snuggle during the movie.

~Play Couple's Games

Before or after the movie, play games just for couples. Play a Newlywed type game where you separate the guys and girls and ask questions. See which couple knows each other best. The winner should receive a prize, such as a picture frame for their prom picture.

You can also change the game around to see which friends know each other better. See if friends know how couples met, when they had their first kiss, and how long they've been together.

~Have a Pre-Prom Dance

Practice your dancing skills. Since it's a small group of couples that are close friends, it's less awkward to practice dancing than at prom. Use music that will be played at your prom. Be sure everyone gets to slow dance. You can dance as group for faster dances if it makes everyone more comfortable.

Be sure your parents are fine with you having a party. Also, be sure your parents are there to supervise to prevent anyone from bringing alcohol. After all, you want the focus on getting to know each other better as couples and having fun as a group.
