Throwing a Birthday Party for a Tween? Try a Boardwalk/Carnival Style Party

Something Different like This Will Make Your Child's Party Stand Out

Are you looking to throw a birthday party for your Tween child that stands out from all the rest of those cookie cutter style birthday parties? Well then try having a Boardwalk or Carnival style birthday party. Tweens can be very competitive among each other about who has the best birthday parties. They don't want a party that is too childish, yet at the same time they don't want to stop having parties either. By having a party based on the theme of the boardwalk at the beach or a carnival environment you will be a hit with your Tween child and their friends.

Carnivals and boardwalks at the beach are full of food and games. The key is the casual atmosphere that exists at both of these environments. When organizing your Tween's birthday party, you need to realize that they would like to freedom for their friends at the birthday party. They don't want the party to be too scheduled. There are ways you can do this though and still serve food and provide entertainment while sticking with the Carnival or boardwalk style birthday theme.

For food, set up a few "stands" around your house where your Tween child who is celebrating their birthday and their guests can pick up their own food. Maybe you can make a pizza stand out of a table with pizza, and a stand with hamburgers and hot dogs as well. Don't forget small stands with both sodas and french fries as well. Don't worry, a table can work as a stand, just decorate it to match the theme of the carnival/boardwalk. How about dessert?

For dessert you can set up stands as well. Why not go all out with the carnival or boardwalk theme and make home made funnel cakes for your Tween and their guests at their birthday party? Along with that set up another stand that has ice cream, and one with cake as well. These stands will give the Tweens the chance to socialize and mingle without feeling like they are being treated like children.

How about some entertainment? Well, what does everyone remember about their childhood at the carnival or the boardwalk? It would be the games. Set up some simple games where your Tween and their birthday guests can either win prizes or tickets to bid on prizes at the end of the birthday party. Some possible games include ball throwing games where they try to hit certain targets or get the ball into a bucket. Another idea would be ring style games where they try to toss plastic rings onto soda bottles. Add in a lucky wheel or dice game and you are all set for your Tween child's birthday party entertainment.

Decorate your house with theme decorations based either on the boardwalk at the beach or a local carnival. Have streamers around the house, and make sure you decorate the stands and game areas as well to fit in. This will be a great way for your Tween to celebrate their birthday and have a unique party that their friends will remember.

  • The key when having a Tween Birthday Party is to make it stand out.
  • Not many others will be having boardwalk or carnival themed birthday parties.
  • You want to make your Tween child and their guests feel grown up, but not let things get out of hand
Having a carnival or boardwalk theme party is a great idea for the Tween age group. It allows them time to socialize, eat, and play without feeling like they are being chaperoned even though they are.
