Throwing the Perfect Cast Party

Anyone that has ever spent countless hours learning lines, rehearsing over and over until everything is perfect and practicing with other until a play comes together is familiar with how much work and group effort is involved. Hour upon hour is used to make a play come to life for an awaiting audience. After all the hard work is over, the cast of the play comes together to celebrate when they can finally let it all hang out at the Cast Party! Planning the perfect Cast Party should be just as much fun as attending!

For starters, you need to decide what kind of Cast Party you are trying to plan. Is your cast all adults, all children or a combination of adults and children? This is crucial in knowing what type of party foods and drinks to serve. This information is also helpful in knowing what type of entertainment to have that will help the cast celebrate all their hard work and efforts in making the show a success!

Most of the time the Cast Party is thrown the same night as the last performance but it is also acceptable to plan it for another date after the performance if you choose. The next day or the following weekend can be considered appropriate times if the performance ends late. You can even ask the cast which time they would prefer or what would work better for them.

After the date and time of the party is set, you can send out invitations to the cast. Make your own invitations, purchase them from a store or send out e-invites online. Be sure to inform the cast whether the party is formal or informal or if they should come in full costume. This is your decision as the Cast Party planner.

Next comes planning what type of foods and drinks to serve at the Cast Party. This is entirely up to you and the budget you have. You may decide to prepare the party favors yourself or have the party professionally catered. Most of the time there is always a cake and other party items such as chips, nuts and punch. You can serve an entire meal, buffet or finger food. The cast is most likely going to be hungrier after a performance so keep this in mind when preparing for the Cast Party. If children are part of the cast, consider this while deciding to have alcoholic drinks. You can have a nice Cast Party and serve non-alcoholic drinks.

Decorations come in handy when planning any type of party and after all the cast has been working really hard, so maybe choose decorations that coincide with the performance. Napkins, plates, cups and table favors that relate to the play work best. You can also choose decorations that are simpler depending on your party theme.

Games and activities go great at a Cast Party! Everyone loves party games and winning prizes, so do some research online and in party game books to come out with some neat games to play that will entertain the cast. Give out prizes to the winners and take plenty of pictures. This is a time for everyone to have fun and celebrate a job well done!

Most important of all, enjoy the party! Kick back and relax, enjoy the company of friends and fellow performers! Talk about how pleased you were with the performance and how everyone enjoyed it! Have Fun!
