Now however, you can keep a pair intact, by getting yourself some Throx Socks. These amazing, (and colorful if not gaudy) socks come in threes not twos! What a concept! I heard about these and had to go take a look.
Today Show hosts Kathie Lee Gifford, and Hoda Kotb can be seen on the Throx Socks website (www.Throx.com) in a clip in which after talking about the Throx Socks, Kathie Lee wipes a tear from her eye watching Susan Boyle sing her heart out. So not only can you wear Throx Socks apparently they are good for use as an alternate hankie! I'm not really sure if inventor Edwin Heaven would like that, but at least Gifford was talking about them!
The inventor of the Throx Socks, the aforementioned Edwin Heaven says he decided that since cars come with a spare, why not socks. So he invented the Throx Socks. Heaven is a bit of an odd duck, having written the original unproduced screenplay for the movie "Howard the Duck" (Who knows - maybe his script didn't suck as much as the one George Lucas produced) He may have hit on the answer to one of life's great mysteries!
One has to admit, this is a great idea and Heaven has gotten quite a bit of acclaim. Not only from the Today Show, but CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch."Deutsch gave Throx Socks a great review calling it a "70 million dollar idea.
Take a look at the Throx Socks website. They have some very interesting color selections for those with discriminating but questionable taste. Throx Socks seems to be big on skulls. There are at least four varieties that feature skulls on the socks. Some of these socks resemble the socks that the Wicked Witch of the East wore under the Ruby Slippers. (remember the witch that had the house dropped on her?)
Any way the idea behind Throx Socks is not bad, let's just say that I wish they came in more standard colors. At $12.00 a crack I would expect a bit more in the way of variety, than the garish colors that Mr. Heaven thinks that America needs.

Post a CommentI thought it was pretty cool too! This is a first!
Edwin,
Thank you for your kind comments. I will certainly watch for the new disigns. I do think the idea is a good one. Lord knows I have sacrificed plenty of socks to the dryer...
So cool that you got a comment from the inventor!
Mike, thank you, in triplicate. The article was a darn good one. (Speaking of which, with THROX, no darning is every necessary.)
As for your wish that THROX came in more standard colors and greater variety, our new wave of designs (coming SOON!) will be a delight to the eye, as well as the feet.]
I especially liked your Wizard of Oz comparison. Interestingly, among the new designs will be a Witchy Green.
Hi ho,
