I remember
the cool shadows
and easy comforts of the womb.
It was a veritable Garden of Eden
of easy living and prenatal pleasures.
I rested on a plush waterbed
for a very long time.
But then suddenly-
I was thrust into a world
of pain and fear and sin.
No wonder Jesus said,
Ye must be born again.
