Thursday's Thrifty Poem

Deonils
Thursdays may inspire thrift, an haiku or two
Today I best wish "A Happy Thanksgiving to you!"
because prose won't flow, nor an haiku

Perhaps the sinuses at my anterior
Keeps me thinking of my baby sister
in Africa, who sounds content ... yet I wonder

The four years I have stayed away, busy ...
With my own daughters here, and the academy
they had prepared for ... being educated, thankfully

Since my parents have departed, in their sixth decade each --
I have looked upon South Africa with so many heartaches -
almost as if I am orphaned - yet I have nephews and nieces

Who have grown so much in four years, and one
Is ready for marriage, the arrangements are done
and I must remember to be thankful, always... to the One

Who takes us up and down, here to there
And keeps me whole; banishes the dark unknown fear
So, I celebrate Thanksgiving, next week, and each year

With Biblical understanding or the humility of disciples
Like Paul, who was very joyful, despite travails and travels
into prisons, stonings, the Cross ... we have Love and His angels

thank you John -- and everyone. Dear Master Smither - I learned something just two days ago and I owe you an apology. Look for it in your private email. Shalom--and Happy Thanksgiving everyone

It is always at times of celebration that we miss those that are no longer with us or those that because of distance we cannot visit.
