Thy Neighbor's Stuff

Nancie Norton
Thou shalt not covet thy Neighbor's stuff
Keeping this commandment can get really tough

We see what they've got and we want one too
Keeping up with the Jones', that's what we try to do

You know Happiness doesn't come from having things
Name brand clothes and diamond rings

A nicer house, a nicer car,
These things don't really define who you are

If you look inside yourself, you might find so much more
Than things you envy about the folks next door

Real rewards come from being, who God made you to be
Making the most of your God given talents you see

Realizing that things, don't make the Man
And that accomplishments and value go hand in hand

Knowing that who you are and what you do
Can show God's Love and make a difference too.

When you feel good about your stage in life,
You'll have so much less worry, so much less strife.

There won't be all that pressure, to make money for stuff
When you figure out that from Blessings, you have enough

Look past the stuff, the material things,
Assess the true happiness that having them brings.

You'll find that Stuff happiness isn't very fulfilling
That after the new wears off, it leaves an empty feeling

God always takes care of our wants and needs
His Love, Mercy and Blessings will always exceed

With the wealth that God gives, our riches will be there
And you'll find that with him you're richer than any Earthly Millionaire.
