Tick-Talk - a Rhymed Reflecting of Surprise Insecting

Linda Ann Nickerson
"Summer's here! Let's play outside!"
My energetic child cried.
We leapt and bounded through the grass
Until we landed, out of gas.

We rolled and romped and laughed out loud.
"Hey, isn't that a thundercloud?"
My little weather girl inquired.
"Sure, let's go in," I said. "I'm tired."

I hit the internet to check
But felt a creep upon my neck.
I reached and grabbed a little tick
And suddenly felt woozy, sick.

Leaping up, I shed my clothes
To strip right down, from head to toes.
I turned the shower on full-blast.
To put it mildly, I was aghast.

For generally, I shower alone;
I like the water-soothing zone.
It hit me like a ton of bricks
To bathe today with seven ticks!
