Ties to Terrorism for Obama Becomes Racist Accusation on Palin

It was bound to happen as soon as the McCain/Palin campaign began questioning Obama for his ties to domestic terrorists because the MSM (mainstream media) simply can not stand attacks on their beloved candidate. Taking a speech and doing some fantastic contortionist moves that would make a Cirque De Soleil performer proud, AP reporter Douglas K.Daniel has found a way to accuse the McCain/Palin of racism. The AP story can be found here: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D93KDQ00&show_article=1

Palin's speech, repeated in various locations, included this passage with which Daniel has a problem and gleans racism from:
"Our opponent...is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect....that he's palling around
with terrorists who would target theri own country" and "This is not a man who sees America like you and
I see America", she said "We see America as a force of good in this world."

I don't see it, racism that is. Daniel apparently has a quite different view. His twists the association with terrorists into vision of a terrorist that we know since 9-11, one of a dark-skinned radical Muslim thus making any attack about Obama's ties to a terrorist like Ayres (by the way a white man) racism. Terrorist by the way means this: a method of government or of resisting government involving domination or coercion by various forms of intimidation, as bombing or kidnapping. Personally I don't see any reference to race in that definition, does anyone other than Mr. Daniel? Unfortunately, I believe the answer is yes.

Daniel excuses and dismisses the Obama's ties to Ayres because Obama was just a child when Ayres and his group bombed U.S. targets. He then continues to dismiss the association as "exaggerated if not outright false" and says there is "no evidence" that they were closer than passing acquaintances when they serves on boards together and Ayres hosted a political event for Obama early in his political career. What's that I say? Ayres home was the site of Obama's "coming out" party to announce that the current state senator was not running again and that Obama was launching his political career. Ayres was the host of the party. This implies a bit more than a passing acquaintance. Even so, it could be believed that he simply was asked to do so, although with his history I can not fathom a person like Ayres getting to know who he was supporting before hosting a party for him. Ok, so he simply hosted a party, let us assume that was the case. Are we not to question the further evidence that he was so much more than "just a guy who lives in my neighborhood" as Obama claims? Is simply questioning this an act of racism? Of course not, we must question it. The two have served on more than one board together, of large community organizations not simply little "community service" projects. They sat together for several years on the board of Chicago based, The Woods Fund giving out thousands of dollars at one point to Trinity Church (remember Reverend Wright?). From 1995 to 1999 they worked together, Ayres overseeing and Obama appointed by Ayres as chairperson , on the Chicago Annenburg Challenge. Millions of dollars were involved in this community service project.

How are we to draw any other conclusion than that Ayres and Senator Obama are much more than casual acquaintances? Governor Palin was pointing out, rightfully so, that Obama has at the very least a lack of judgment in choosing who he does business with and a dangerous lack of judgment at that. A terrorist, no matter what race, is a terrorist. Working so closely all this time with a man who still says America "makes me want to puke" and that his only regret is that they didn't do enough bombing of U.S. targets, is frightening. That he lies about it as being a casual acquaintance, just a guy from my neighborhood and the mainstream media will simply accept this or dismiss it as Mr. Daniel does, is unexcusable.

Personally speaking, I'm pretty tired of racism being cried whenever someone attacks Senator Obama on serious subjects. Simply being black should not mean any attacks on him are racism.

In writing the story about bringing racism into the campaign (which is what Mr. Daniel has just done), it is pretty ironic that he uses a quote by a Democratic analyst that calls Governor Palin a "fluffy bunny". Apparently he hasn't heard that sexism is pretty offensive too.
