Tiger Woods Admits His "transgressions" - on His Website

Tiger Woods - Tabloid Hype Continues About Alleged Affair

Susan Jane
Tiger Woods is human just like everyone else

Tiger Woods is an international sporting celebrity of the highest order. He is also a human being with shortcomings - just like everyone else. Nobody is perfect. Tiger has, for a long time, been put on a pedestal by people and golf-lovers around the globe. He has shown greatness as a sporting hero, and goodness as a son, husband and father. His charitable works in favor of those less fortunate have been well documented. He has come across to the public as "squeaky clean" as far as his image goes for so long, some people will be shocked by recent alleged events. But the bottom line is - Tiger is not infallible and I suspect that the fallout from his recent car accident and anything that caused him to flee his own home has put him right in the sand trap of life. He now has to chip his way out - and that will take some work that has nothing to do with golf or celebrity. It also has nothing to do with anyone other than Tiger and his wife Elin.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!

Everyone makes mistakes in their day-to-day lives. Sometimes our actions can go unnoticed and we kid ourselves that as long as those we love never find out, it doesn't matter. It would seem that something Tiger has done has rebounded to rock his seemingly peaceful family life. How many of us have had to deal with this type of situation or other things that have caused mayhem in our personal lives?

Unfortunately, the tabloids exist only to bring tall poppies down in their quest to document each and every incident in their lives - and the juicier the better. It is logical to assume that if they can't get something real, some reporters will fabricate stories to shock or amuse readers. Their existence depends on that.

Tiger admits in the message on his website that he let his family down and that he has not been true to his values. It takes a strong character to admit faults in public. It is logical to assume that Tiger, for all his sporting prowess, could be quite naïve about how the tabloids operate. He might not have expected such a media frenzy, especially if he was not expecting revelations about his personal life to become "hot tabloid gossip".

What stands out in this whole mêlée of publicity is that certain women have been more than ready to put themselves out into the limelight in the media. If they have, in fact, been personally involved with Tiger Woods, then I believe he is to be pitied for choosing such "tell-all types" - not that I condone infidelity if that is what has occurred.

Stop the media and tabloid hype and let Tiger and Elin recover and re-build their relationship

Tiger and Elin should now be left alone to resolve any issues in their relationship without the media spotlight trying to shine on their every move. It will be hard enough for them to recapture whatever has been lost due to "Tiger's transgressions". If they can come out of this phase in their lives with a stronger and more loving relationship, then they can survive anything. This couple deserves total privacy now so they can re-build and recover.

Nicely done Susan. I agree...he's only human. I love how the media is making a big to-do about it. I watched this story on a local station last night, & alot of average joe's called in to say that they just don't care, let his wife deal with it...& I agree.

You can't turn on the TV w/o seeing this.

I'm not condoning what Tiger admits to having done, but it bothers me knowing that most likely the ones coming down on him the hardest have been guilty of the same thing. We tend to put people on pedestals and then condemn them when they fall. I hope he and his wife can work it out.

I hope this couple works it out. Money may make some people think they are invincible, but in the end we are all just human
