Is Tiger Woods cheating on his wife, Elin Nordegren, with Rachel Uchitel? Could the National Enquirer's story that Tiger Woods has been stepping out on his beautiful wife, Elin Nordegren, be true? And could that have been the real cause of the car crash in which Tiger Woods was involved early Friday morning?

By the time college football games were being played Friday, announcers were breaking in with updates about Tiger Woods' car accident outside his Orlando home early Friday morning. Reports indicated that Tiger Woods was treated at a local hospital after the car accident and released. Some reports earlier had indicated that Woods was in serious condition but were later corrected. Later reports also included details of Tiger Woods being found by police in a dazed condition in the street with his wife standing near him. Some reported that Woods wife, model Elin Nordegren, had busted out the back of Woods' SUV after the car crash with a golf club to help extricate him from the vehicle.

All this at 2:20 a.m.

But the internet gossip-mongers had already taken over the story, claiming that something had happened to distract Tiger Woods as he left his home so early in the morning. Many were bandying about the idea that Tiger Woods was on a booty call, attempting to hook-up, trying engage in a rendezvous with a woman named Rachel Uchitel. Twitter and blog nation alike went crazy with salacious details, rumors, and scandalous insinuations and accusations. Was Tiger Woods cheating on his wife?

The National Enquirer maintains that it has proof that Tiger Woods is cheating with Rachel Uchitel. Although many look askance at the National Enquirer for its over-the-top "Elvis Fathered a Love Child with She-Bigfoot" stories, they weren't fooling around when they accused Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards with cheating on his wife, Elizabeth, with film-maker Rielle Hunter. They said they had proof then and they did. So...

Reports are now starting to come in from all over the internet that Tiger Woods car crash may have been caused by a distraction other than a cell phone or prescription medication. TMZ reported that Woods' back window of his SUV may have been knocked out by an angry Elin Nordegren who wasn't finished fighting over the world's most famous golfer's new love interest.

Tiger Woods reportedly had facial and lip lacerations. Since airbags were not deployed when his car ran into a fire hydrant and a tree, it was at first speculated that the scratches came from an encounter with the steering wheel of his car when it crashed. TMZ claimed Saturday to have a source that says that Elin Nordegren became enraged and tore into Tiger Woods after confronting him about reports of him seeing another woman (Rachel Uchitel?). When Tiger attempted to leave, the wife followed him with a golf club and drove it through the back window of his departing SUV. Woods was then "distracted" and hit the hydrant and tree.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren were married in 2004. They have two children.

It is unknown if Elin Nordegren yelled, "Fore!" before getting the hole in one...
