Tiger Woods Divorce: Could Guilt Over Elin Nordegren Hurt Tiger's Performance?

Tiger Woods' divorce from Elin Nordegren has been a long time coming. Ever since the famed single vehicle accident outside their exclusive residence, people have been speculating that Tigers Ways would eventually cause a downfall.

Even though there have been portions of the year where he hasn't been talked about too awful much, there's always some sort of update. He was rumored to be in a multitude of places - from his yacht Privacy, to a New York hotel, to a sex rehab in Mississippi. It turns out that he did visit the latter.

They said they were going to stay together, the tabloids said they were splitting up. All many people were worried about were Sam and Charlie, the couple's two young children. Still yet, the rumors, allegations, and alleged mistresses continued their parade. The incident was made a mockery on SNL, the Howard Stern Show, and on countless late night shows.

Some hinted at the possibility of a Tiger Woods sextape scandal. Porn star mistresses cashed in on their new found fame. Somewhere in the middle of all of this, Tiger Woods was named athlete of the decade. He was at the height of his career, and the storm was brewing around him.

Tiger's still pretty young, and he's still the #1 golf player in the world - how long he remains there is another story. He did take a hiatus from golf, even missing one event that benefited his charity. Many thought that he'd never return to golf. Others thought he would hit the ground running -right where he left off.

Across multiple leaderboards, Tiger Woods name slipped into the ranks of the relatively unknown. Had he never had his legacy to begin with, we wouldn't know who he is. Perhaps that would be a blessing to the athlete, who's known for his discretion and love of privacy.

So why is Tiger Woods off his game? Could he be preoccupied with the guilt over Elin Nordegren? We recently learned that his wife had no idea whatsoever that he was unfaithful. She learned of Tiger's ways the same way we did! It had to be hard for the mother of two, to see the man she loved turn out to be a liar.

Anyone in their right mind would feel guilty. There's more to the story than we will ever know. Will Tiger get back in the game? Only if he gets his head in it. Chances are by next year, he will have had ample time to blow off steam. Then, we could see him crawl back up the ranks and back to the top of his game once again.
