A new week dawns in Hollywood, bringing with it a celebrity birth (no, not M.I.A.'s) and the ever updating case of Chris Brown's alleged assault on girlfriend Rihanna. The good news is that the Grammys may have awarded M.I.A. some new fans and respect for her knockout performance alongside fellow rappers while nine months pregnant.

New Baby for Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren

Tiger Woods now has another fan to cheer him on. He and wife, Elin Nordegren, welcomed a baby boy on Sunday. Woods announced the baby's name on his website: Charlie Axel Woods.

Woods said, "Both Charlie and Elin are doing great and we want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts."

Charlie has a big sister at home, Sam Alexis who was born in June 2007.

The Drama of the Grammys

I'm sure everyone was surprised that it was Tiger Woods' family who welcomed a baby and not singer M.I.A.. I certainly was. After all, her performance at the Grammys had fans pumped and left women everywhere in awe.

Even though M.I.A. was due the day of the Grammys, she didn't pull out of the performance. Instead, she donned a daring mesh ensemble, with black and white polka-dotted fabric covering up the necessary places and accenting her very pregnant belly, and rocked out.

While she initially started out by singing her signature song "Paper Planes," it eventually morphed into a remix of the Jay-Z/T.I. single "Swagga Like Us." Dancing and jamming alongside Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and T.I., M.I.A proved that she could not only hold her own vocally alongside the "Rap Pack," but that she could do it while nine months pregnant.

According to a poll on People.com, M.I.A. and the "Rap Pack" had the most memorable Grammy performance:

Jonas Brothers & Stevie Wonder 18%

Miley Cyrus & Taylor Swift 18%

M.I.A., Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne & Kanye West 33%

Radiohead 13%

Adele & Jennifer Nettles 18%

There are still a lot of questions and rumors flying around with the Chris Brown/Rihanna affair. Both singers missed their performances at the Grammys, Brown because he was being detained by police for his alleged assault against Rihanna, Rihanna, for obvious reasons. However, police have as of yet to identify the victim as Rihanna, 20. Though E!Online's sources have stated that the victim is Rihanna, the singer's publicist denied them, saying that Rihanna was fine and thanking people for their concern.

Police stated that Brown, 19, and his companion got into an argument in Brown's car around 12:30 AM. After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and things quickly got out of hand. The victim, who had visible injuries on her face, identified Brown as her attacker. Brown had already left the scene.

He later turned himself in and was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He was released from jail after posting the $50,000 bail.

No doubt this case will continue to be updated regularly.
