Tiger Woods' Epic Divorce is Now Official! Elin Nordegren Woods is a Free Woman!

Tiger Woods' divorce has been finalized, and now both parties can go on as single individuals. The divorce was rather rapid considering it hasn't even been a year since the car accident and affair allegations that started the whole downward spiral surfaced.

I remember when the Tiger Woods car accident happened. It was the day after Thanksgiving and I just got back from Black Friday sales. I turned on the news and heard the events unfolding. Tiger Woods was in a single vehicle car accident.

The rest, as they say was a flurry of media frenzy. As a blogger, I must admit I got caught up in the whole situation for the next couple of months as woman after woman came forward claiming to be the latest, and hopefully the "greatest" and "most memorable" mistress.

To tell you the truth, the only alleged mistresses that I remember are Rachel Uchitel (who could forget her? She was the first.), Jamiee Grubbs (she was on VH1's Tool Academy), and the waitress from Perkins (I can't remember her name - but to think Tiger went out on Elin with a Perkins restaurant worker is memorable to me.)

In the wake of the scandal, Tiger was named Athlete of the decade. Then, there were rumors of sex rehab. Stories that Elin was going to fight for the family were swiftly followed by divorce rumors which were quickly renounced. Insane amounts of money were discussed as potential settlements - hundreds of millions of dollars.

For someone like Tiger Woods who loves his privacy, this has been a nightmare. You can tell it bothers him, too as his golf game hasn't really recovered this year. Hopefully now that everything is finalized he can put his head back on the golf course.

The terms of the divorce haven't been widely announced, and no dollar figures have been confirmed. However, the couple issued a joint statement which reads:

"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."

The couple will "share" parenting of their 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son.
