Tiger Woods is Expected to Make His Return at the Masters

Tiger Woods, who has taken a four-month hiatus from golf, is scheduled to play at the Masters in April. The announcement of his return came about last Tuesday. His recent absent from golf was brought on by a sex scandal. Over the past few months news of Woods infidelity have flooded the media. Woods has admitted to being unfaithful to his wife with numerous other women.

Tiger Woods is a four-time Masters champion. He will begin his 2010 golfing season with the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. According to TigerWoods.com, Woods stated ""The Masters is where I won my first major, and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta." Not everyone may be happy about him returning to golf. His wife, Elin Nordegren, will not be there cheering him on. In recent weeks, Nordegren, has been focused on her children. Rumors swirl, that as recently as last week, she has contacted a lawyer regarding divorce. Yet at this point no one has been hired.

Despite the feelings of his wife, both the PGA Tour commissioner and his sponsors (such as Nike) are thrilled to see Tiger Woods getting back into the game. ESPN and CBS are also happy with the return of Woods. Both companies are expecting big television ratings for the Masters. Tiger Woods has been rated the number one golf player in the world for some time now. The media has their arms held wide open for Tiger, but how will the fans and other players receive him?

Should Tiger's private life and professional life be kept separate? Or should we take into account that he is a role model for our children? Perhaps he should be making more of a commitment to his family at the present moment and opt to stay out of the spot light. Only time shall tell if the golf community will forgive Tiger Woods or if he has damaged his career for ever. Regardless of the outcome, Woods may have tarnished his image but he is arguably still the best golfer around.
