Tiger Woods Linked to Porn Star Holly Sampson

Tiger Woods reportedly has had an affair with porn star Holly Sampson. While it seems that each day brings at least one more revelation of a new Woods mistress, up until now each of his mistresses has been a relative unknown. Ranging from cocktail waitresses to diner managers, none of the women were famous, even if a few of them hung around with famous people, until now.

Fame in the porn industry is a relative concept; Holly Sampson is not a household name the way several major porn actresses are. But she has had a long career, appearing in nearly one hundred movies since the early 1990's. The fact that Woods is now alleged to have had an affair with a porn star brings another dimension to the entire scandal on at least a couple of levels.

While it is doubtful that anybody believed that Woods was in love with any of the previous reported mistresses, the notion that Woods was searching for intimacy with every day, common people could have been interpreted to suggest that he wanted a relationship outside of the high profile life that he and his wife, Elin Nordegren Woods, could not escape from. Very few people know what it is like to be so famous that your spouse is famous just for being your spouse and it was plausible that Woods wanted intimacy with 'normal' women. But with the revelation of his affair with Holly Sampson, who is relatively famous in her own right, the theory loses some of its credence.

The second, and perhaps more disturbing aspect to the Holly Sampson report is something that hopefully Woods has thought of. The question has to be for Woods and for his suffering wife, did Woods practice safe sex with these women? Now, this is a question that would be of concern even before the Holly Sampson allegation. Any of the other women that Woods slept with all could have presented risks to him as well, but when a porn star enters the equation, the question of safe sex cannot help but be more pressing. While porn stars generally are tested for STD's frequently, the fact remains that they have sex with an inordinate amount of people; people who also have sex with an inordinate amount of people.

While most I'm sure would like to think that Woods would not be so reckless as to have sex with a large number of women, now including a porn star, without taking the safe sex safety measures that he must know he should, the recklessness that he has displayed in most other aspects of this scandal suggest that nothing should be assumed.
