Tiger Woods Media Coverage Not Masterful

Vonda Menard
Tiger Woods, is a bad man. He's done bad things to his wife, family, and several women, we get it, enough. Why the television statement, the interviews? Why has this personal matter become public business?

On a day when one of the biggest issues in the country, the health care bill, was decided, people we're talking about Tiger Woods interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if more people knew the name of Tiger Woods mistresses, then members of Congress. Doesn't anyone have a problem with the time, money, and resources being wasted on such a non story? Tiger Woods is really not that important.

We can't let the story die, so now there's talk about text messages, that I have no interest in reading, but you can't avoid the subject. I heard of said messages while listening to the radio. I listened as the radio personality went on about what a scumbag Tiger Woods was, and how he likes to hurt women, based on the text messages he sent one of the women. I'm sure the text messages were provocative, and contained comments many would find offensive. My question is, when he was saying he wanted to pull her hair and choke her, what was she saying to him? Was this part of their sex play? Did he do any of these things against the women's will? Where are all of her text messages? To paint someone out as a woman abuser without knowing the entire story, is irresponsible. I don't know Tiger Woods, I don't know what kind of relationship he had with these women. I don't know what the women were, or weren't into, I don't care.

There's a world going on out there, and we are fixated on this story. Why? Enough of the, he had us fooled, we thought he was a nice guy. You didn't know him as a man, so he didn't fool you, he just revealed himself to you. I hope we can soon move on to another topic, something that actually matters.

All this Tiger talk won't mean a thing when the Masters begins, all eyes will be on Woods and remain there every time he plays. So in the end, what really changed? We watched Tiger before, we'll watch him again, and this time we'll see the man and the golfer, but will that matter?
