Tiger Woods Not Playing at Accenture World Match Play. They Dropped Him- is This Why He is Dropping Out on Them?

Tiger Will Not Make His Much Anticipated Comeback to the Golf World at Accenture

Roz Zurko
Tiger Woods has decided not to play in the Accenture World Match Play Championship as previously planned. Accenture was one of the sponsors that dropped Woods during the media frenzy of the all the "Tiger Woods Affairs". Now they will not have Tiger playing in their tournament. Is this an "eye for an eye" move on Tiger's part, or is he just not ready yet?

The golf world was excited to finally see Tiger Woods come out of hiding since his "accident" on Thanksgiving Evening. We are going to have to wait for the next possibilities on the tour which is the WGC-CA Championship in Miami on March 11-14 or two weeks after that - the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando.

Tiger may decide to make his return in his own backyard in the private Tavistock Cup match on March 22-23. It is played on his home course Isleworth in Florida.

Accenture World Match Play will not only be missing Tiger, but Phil Mickelson as well. Phil Mickelson announced last week that he will not be playing. Phil's wife and his mother were both diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Michelson said he would be spending that week with his family.

Tiger Woods who is now 34 years old has dazzled the golf circuit with his skills and talent since he was a teen. He is the world's number one golfer and his absents has been a big financial loss to the golf world.
He spent a month in a rehab for sex addiction and is trying to repair his marriage. Is this the reason he decided to stay out of the Accenture tournament, or is it that he was not good enough for them so he feels the same about their tournament?

Tiger reportedly has had surgery to repair broken bones in his face and nose and also has had his front teeth replaced. These reports came out shortly after the story about his wife beating him with a golf club broke out a few months ago. No one has seen Tiger's face since then.

Accenture Match Play would have been watched by more than just the golf fans if Tiger had played in the tournament as earlier reported. The world would have tuned in to see what Tiger looked like today after the entire ordeal.

Tiger Woods is sure to return to the world of golf, he would be doing himself and the golf world a disservice if he did not. His talent and skills have never been matched as of yet. Tiger Woods is a big piece of why we as a nation are so interested in the game of golf.

WOULD YOU, THE MEDIA HAVE TREATED ARNOLD OR JACK IN THE SAME MANNER?
YOU (THE MEDIA) DIDN'T COME TO HEAR WHAT TIGER HAD TO SAY, YOU ARE UPSET THAT YOU COULDN'T BURY HIM.LET THIS MAN TRY TO FIX HIS LIFE. WHAT SNAKES SOME OF YOU ARE!

What's the big deal? Tiger had a conference to tell us all he is working out his problems, he is seeking therapy and want to attempt to take back his family life. He is an avergae American but he is one of the bestgolfers in the world. Right now family is important.

Who the hell is this Golf Writers Association to insinuate themselves as if they were whatever they imagine themselves to be! Tiger is not golf so why are these people behaving as they are? I don't get it!

Not playing golf is the best thing for Tiger at this stage. A company has the a right to drop whomever they feel is not meeting their expectations. This is USA the last time I checked.
    God Bless USA

It is a pity expensive dental work can't fix a bad character. That's all I am going to say on this subject.

    yep it is a shame

It's a shame what this talented man did to himself.

Great article, Roz. It'll be interesting when Tiger surfaces again.

Thanks Roz! Yes, he just needs to get back out there and (sadly) have to prove huimself again.

It's such a shame that a player of his standing has ruined his career through his indiscretions. Unfortunately a lot of a star's success is often due to their being held in high regard by their fans - well in the golfing field at least.

Well, if they dropped him; he will drop them. Hope he can get his golf talents back on the tour soon

Isn't it terrible to be so famous that every little part of your private life is fair game to the news media?
