Tiger Woods One Off the Lead After Battling the Desert Winds in the Dubai Desert Classic

Tiger Woods Rallied on the Back Nine

Roz Zurko
Tiger Woods has redeemed himself after a rocky start yesterday with one shot off the lead going into the Dubai Desert Classic final round. Tiger is so close he can taste this win, with a par of 72.

Woods did get off to a rocky start bogeying the opening two holes, but he was able to repair some of that damage, with a birdie to the third hole. He continued on with his rocky performance and closed out the front nine with a bogey and a double bogey.

Woods came out swinging on the back nine, which put him within sight of the lead. With the front nine history, the back nine looked like an entire new game Woods was playing. An eagle, three birdies and a dropped shot at the 16th hole, put Woods back in business.

Woods is one shot behind Rory Mcllory, the Northern Irishman, who is in a three way tie for the lead with Anders Hansen from Demark and South Africa's Thomas Aiken.

The wind played havoc to the late starters of this game, this included Tiger Woods, which was evident in his front nine game. Once he got use to the elements, he was able to rise above what the dessert winds had to offer and put himself nearer the lead.
