Tiger Woods Out for Jog and Will Speak to the Public on Friday, Feb. 19th

Tiger Woods has had a busy day today. He released news that he will speak to the public on Friday. This announcement will be for him to give information only. He will not answer questions from the media.

It has almost been 3 months since Tiger's Thanksgiving night accident. He must surely be a changed man by now with the drastic withdrawal from public since that night.

Today Tiger also joined a male buddy for a run in Florida, according to TMZ. Tiger looked a bit plumper than normal. The two men were photographed while out running; they were both wearing Nike shirts. Was this to acknowledge the support of Nike? The company was loyal to Tiger, even during his months of crisis

Or it could just be a sign that Nike sports attire is endemic in America. Or at least it was until a lot of Americans started boycotting Nike due to their ongoing support of Tiger after his statement about infidelity.

Tiger also had a visit from Elin Nordegren today. And yet Tiger, just like Elin, was not wearing his wedding band while out in public. Could the bare fingers of Elin and Tiger mean the marriage is over? Or are they still trying to work things out?

Tiger is back living in Florida now, but Elin is not in the same house with him. Good for her. It is far too soon to return, if ever. Trust was lost and it will be a long journey to regain it, if possible.

Tiger was also seen out hitting some golf balls today too. He was playing at a spot near his home but had to depart when the media helicopters began to circle overhead. They will probably be the bane of Tiger's existence for the next few years. They will probably hover over him every where he goes.

Perhaps he is making public appearances ahead of his press conference and his first outing to play in a golf tournament to try to deflect the media frenzy from going into frenzy mode at his first official public outing. Rumors are floating that Tiger will play in the Tavistock tournament in March. He may also play in the upcoming Masters.

Tiger Woods Press Conference, Friday February 19

Tiger Woods will hold a press conference at the PGA headquarters at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vero Beach, Florida on Friday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m.

Tiger Woods has shared a message about his upcoming press conference on his website. "While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between him and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him. He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends, and that's what he's going to discuss."

At the press conference only select reporters will be given rights to attendance. ESPN reports that Tiger's agent, Mark Steinberg, noted that "Three wire services have been invited, The Associated Press, Reuters, and Bloomberg-and he asked the Golf Writers Association of America to recommend pool writers."

I always thought a 'press conference' meant questions and answers but he won't take questions...gee, wonder why.

This "news conference" will be the most whitewashed, scripted, and lawyered statement in the history of mankind. "In the hole, Cheetah" and calls for "Hey, Tiger, how about a three-some" will give new meaning to traditional golf lingo and echo long after he hits his first tee shot.
