That's really EA's motto, along with the Madden series, is that the gameplay is so high-quality, that there's no need to make any drastic changes to it.
Courses: The old standbys are here like St. Andrews and Torrey Pines. There are some newer courses such as TPC Boston and Hazeltine, the site of the 2009 PGA Championship. The difficulty for the top players is barely there, on most tournaments the winning is an unrealistic -26 or a score in the 40s.
Single-player mode: The first thing I was amazed with the realism of photo mode. Users can upload either a photo to EA's Internet site or they can upload directly from a digital camera. With a little use of pointing markers around the face and doing it a couple times. I saw it was a pretty good match. It was not perfect, but I was pleased.
Continuing with single-player mode, you get practice with Tiger's real swing coach Hank Haney. Hank will appear on-screen and instruct you, then you follow with the drills. The better you do in the drills, the more your attributes. Your attributes also increase depending on how you play during a tournament round. There is also a club tuner feature where players can go to the practice range and tune their clubs to their liking by sacrificing power for accuracy and vice versa and so on.
Online: Online play is a mixed bag for my experiences with it. The daily tournaments are a nice touch but you do have to be an absolute all-star to win. Scores for the winners range in the -26 range. Alternate shot is a good feature but make some time to play it because you will find yourself sitting around more than actually hitting your shot. I thought the best online mode with stroke play simultaneous. Basically, you just play a hole like normal while the other players in your group do the same. For the most part, the players finish within seconds of each other and there's not a lot of waiting time.
Online interactions with the players for the most part have been disappointing if not rude. I got told when entering the group that I better leave the room right now because they didn't want to play with me. That is not going to make me play online games with different groups and I am sure that I am probably not the only one that feels that way.
Overall, if you are a fan of the series, you are going to like this game, especially for the PS3. If you're not a fan of golf though, I wouldn't recommend it.
