Tight

Wrists bound tight
in dollar signs
we trudge to where
we'd rather not.

Sometimes
we have enough
to fill up on a bit of fun
a bit of bread,
but all is gone too soon.

We wear our fingers
down while
digging quarters
from the couch,
and celebrate each find.

Rewind the song
and play again, again, again
the dollar dance,
until they place two coins
upon our eyes.
